Jim Tift bio 

Jim Tift has a B.A. psychology and an M.A. in gerontology. He is currently retired, having worked for over 40 years in non-profit agencies serving older adults and their families and taught courses on aging at Metropolitan State University, St. Marys University, Minnesota State University Mankato and St. Catherine University, which he retired from at age 70 in 2019. He was a founding member of MGS in 1976, serving as a Board member and Officer, including as President, Secretary and Treasurer through the years. He co-founded the Gerontology Educators Network (GEN), edited and contributed to the Minnesota Gerontologist Newsletter and chaired and served as a member of the Conference Committee, Education Committee and Bloedow Scholarship Committee for over 20 years.
