Farah Baig, as the Legislative Coordinator of the Age-Friendly Minnesota team, brings extensive experience in policy development, community engagement, and strategic planning. She earned her PhD in Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development from the University of Minnesota. Her dissertation research explored the intersection of higher education, age-friendly ecosystems, and lifelong learning with a particular focus on the lived experience of older adult students on campus.  Previously, she served as an age-friendly consultant with the Age-Friendly Minnesota Council, contributing her expertise to the development of Minnesota’s Multisector Blueprint for Aging.

Her work emphasizes fostering inclusive, intergenerational environments and advocating for the needs of diverse populations, including Tribal Nations and communities impacted by systemic inequities. With an extensive career as an educator within urban schools in the United States and abroad, she has a proven track record in equity-driven education, program development, and cross-sector collaboration.

Beyond her professional roles, she served as a leader in community advocacy where she drives systems change and champions community participation in democratic processes.
